Who's that boy?

I had a blast in San Francisco. Although most of the time was spent in class, I did manage to get in some recreational activity. The trip renewed my desire to move there.

This trip was different, though. I actually was able to experience what it would be like to live there. Every morning, I had to get up, drive to breakfast, go to work (class) and then fight traffic to get back home. So, while I enjoyed being in the city, it wasn't until the weekend that I realized what I like so much about the city. I hooked up with an old friend on Friday. It was really nice to see him. On Saturday, my friend and I went to a club in Berkeley. This was the most fun I've had in years. Then on Sunday, we went to the Castro and watch a powerful documentary, We Were Here: Voices From the AIDS Years in San Francisco I'm still too shaken to write about what I experienced inside while watching this film. Anyone who believes Ronald Regan was a great president should watch this.

I Should be Ashamed.

It has been about three months since my last post. I knew it had been a while, but didn't realize it had been that long.

As far as the weight lost, I managed to get down to 174 lbs. and am now 172.
Since I don't want this blog to be about my desire to lose a few pounds, I probably won't mention it too often.

Early Results

According to the scales last night, I weigh 177 pounds. This morning, it was 176.5.
I think I can conclude that the exercise is working since I weighed 178 two days ago.
However, this lose seems to have happened too quickly. So, the next few days should prove interesting. Perhaps, I should get a new scales since the one at the YMCA isn't very reliable.

I feel exhausted, but I'm going to eat breakfast, bike to the Y, work out and then bike to work.

I'm such a wuss

This morning I had planned to bike A-mountain before I biked to the YMCA, but it was too cold. Yeah, I know this is hard to believe since it is June, but 51 degrees is a little too cold for me to bike to the top of a mountain and back down. On a good note, I did bike to the Y and then to work. And then On the way home, I bike to the Y, ran 1.2 miles and biked home. So, I think I can consider it a good day. I weighed myself tonight. I'm still at 178, but I didn't expect a change, although I was worried about an increase in weight.

San Francisco, Here I come

I'm in the process of planning a trip to San Francisco. The purpose of the trip is to attend a VMWare workshop. However, I want to look my best. So, I need to lose about 5 to 10 pounds before I get there.

In order to lose this weight, I have decided to put in a rigorous exercise program over the next three weeks. This includes biking A-mountain every other day before I go to work, biking to work every other day, exercising at the YMCA every day, except Sunday, and sit ups twice a day.

Tonight I weigh 178 pounds.

Wow, 2009 Was An Interesting Year

You just really don't know how life will turn out. The beginning of 2009 started out on a sour note, but ended very different.

Actually, it began with HOPE. Obama was sworn in as the 44th President. I had HOPE in him then, and I have HOPE in him now.

I began 2009 with a new roommate. Within a few days of him moving in, I knew I had made a terrible mistake. By the end of January I was telling him he had to leave. However, it took two more months to finally get rid of him.

I also began the year thinking I would eventually have to foreclose on my new house. The payments were impossible to make and I was heavily in debt. On top of that my new roommate balked at the idea of having to pay utilities.

As many of my friends know, I was also thinking of a career change. My job had become very boring and I found it difficult to keep up on the latest technology. Not only was it difficult to keep up, but I really didn’t have much interest in keeping up. I was seriously thinking of a change of career that involved nursing or law.
